Windows XP/98 Set-Up

Click on the Start button in the bottom left corner of your screen.

Select Run and type inetwiz, as shown below;

Select Connect using my Phone line.

If your modem has already been installed, Windows will present the Step 1 of 3 Internet Account Connection Information screen. The top portion of this screen is shown below. After you have inserted the phone number to be dialed (here we have used 257-3900 as a demo If you are in Chico, the number is 592.2101; others are listed here, uncheck 'Use area code and dialing rules....' . Click Next.

The Step 2 screen will ask for your user name and password. Enter your ChicoNet email address and password.

The Step 3 screen will ask for a name for the connection. Type ChicoNet.com

The next screen will ask if you wish to setup an internet mail account.
If you do not want to use your chiconet email account, or would prefer to check your email using our webmail interface (recommended) click no and then next, then click finish and you are done!
